Mr. Khalid Mansoor (Chairman)

Mr. Khalid Mansoor is a Graduate in Chemical Engineering with distinction and honors. He has been the Chief Executive Officer of Hubco, the first and largest Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Pakistan, since May 20, 2013. The Company generates approximately 10% of the Country’s electricity and is a leading private sector player in addressing the energy crisis currently being faced by Pakistan.

Mr. Mansoor initiated the process of transformation of Hubco on becoming the CEO in May 2013. Major refurbishments have been carried out in Hub Plant, DuPont HRM and GE’s Predictive Enhancement and Performance Improvement (PEPI) has been initiated in all three plants of Hubco to enhance safety, reliability, availability and efficiency. Growth initiatives have been undertaken and Projects worth over US$ 3.5 Billion are currently in execution. These include 1320MW imported coal base power project with integrated Jetty at existing Hub site in a JV arrangement with China Power Investment Holding (CPIH), development of Thar Coal Mine in a JV arrangement with Government of Sindh, Engro, House of Habib & Habib Bank Limited and a 330MW mine mouth power plant at Thar with an aim to provide long term sustainable solution to Pakistan’s energy needs. These initiatives have resulted in increasing the market capitalization of Hubco by 135%. Mr. Mansoor heads all the subsidiaries of Hubco being the Chairman or the CEO. He is also the President of the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OICCI) for the term 2017.

Mr. Mansoor has over 35 years of experience and expertise in Energy & Petrochemical Sectors in leading roles for mega size projects development, execution, management and operations. Mr. Mansoor led the development of permeate gas fired 225MW combined cycle power plant during his tenure as President and CEO of Engro Powergen Limited and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Algeria Oman Fertilizer Company (AOA) which currently manages the world’s biggest Ammonia & Urea fertilizer Complex. Prior to AOA, he has held positions as President and Chief Executive Officer of Engro Fertilizers Limited, Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited (EPQL), Engro Powergen Limited (EPL) and Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company (SECMC). He had also been a Director on the Boards of Engro Corporation, Engro Polymer & Chemicals Limited, Engro Foods (Pvt.) Limited, Engro Vopak Terminal Limited, Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited. He also held various key assignments at Engro and with Esso Chemicals Canada and led the development and execution of various major diversification and expansion Projects worth over US$ 1.6 billion.

Mr. Ruhail Muhammad (CEO)

Mr. Ruhail Muhammad’s career spans over 30 years in General Management, Business Development, Strategy, Financial Planning and People Development. He has held various C-suite positions in companies focused on a diverse range of activities from Chemicals to Energy.

He is currently the CEO of Hub Power Holdings Ltd, a subsidiary of HUBCO, Pakistan’s largest IPP. He is responsible for managing the growth portfolio of HUBCO, including the existing coal-based power plants. In addition, he is serving as a Director on the Boards of Hub Power Holdings Limited, ThalNova Power Thar Limited, Laraib Energy Limited, China Power Hub Generation Company, EFU Life and K-electric. He was the CEO of Engro Fertilizers from 2012-2018. He has served on the Boards of Engro Corp and various Engro subsidiaries including Engro Vopak (Chairman) and Engro LNG Terminal (Chairman). In addition, he has also served on the Boards of Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance, British Overseas School, KP Energy Board (PEDO) and as Chairman of Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited.

He is a CFA Charter Holder and holds an MBA degree from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Pakistan. He has attended the Advance Management Program at INSEAD as well as an Agri-Business certification from the Harvard Business School.

Mr. Tahir Jawaid

An engineer by profession, Mr. Tahir Jawaid has over 31 years of vast experience and expertise in Fertilizer, Petrochemical & Power Sectors.Currently, he is working as the Chief Executive Officer at HPSL, which is a subsidiary of The Hub Power Company Limited (HUBCO). HPSL has been incorporated to manage Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of its existing power assets and explore other O&M business opportunities onshore and offshore.

Previously, he was associated with HUBCO as Senior Vice President (Corporate Services & New Venture), to develop Projects based on imported & local Coal. Before joining Hubco he was the Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Public Affairs of Engro Corporation Limited.He also worked in the United States in various capacities for system and design engineering companies.During his professional career, he held key roles in Management of HR, Planning, Materials Warehouse Management and Maintenance Management Systems Mr. Jawaid obtained MS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Houston, USA, and BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Engineering & Technology, Pakistan.

Mr. Aly Khan

Mr. Aly Khan is an Honors M.Sc. Graduate from Boston College and an Undergraduate B.S. from Northeastern University.

Over the course of the last decade he has cultivated his professional career working in London, Singapore and New York for various global institutions including Citi Group and Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation in several management and training capacities.

Owais also represents ABL on the Boards of Hub Power, Kot Addu Power and Narowal Energy and is Member Trustee Member of Friends of IBA Trust. Previously, he has served on the Boards of Atlas Power and First Receivable Securitization Company. Prior to joining ABL, he has worked for National Bank of Pakistan, Standard Chartered Modaraba and Emirates Bank International. His qualifications include BBA (Hons) & MBA from IBA, Karachi and Chartered Financial Analyst from CFA Institute, USA.

Locally, Mr. Khan has extended valuable contributions to multiple ventures through key management roles including spearheading the construction and operation of Pakistan’s first commercial L.E.E.D. Certified Building, setting up a state-of-the-art 8,000 ton per day cement plant and growing one of the country’s largest dairy businesses to 600,000 liters per day of sales.

He is the Chairman of Pioneer Cement Ltd., Director of Haleeb Foods Limited, Director of Qasim International Container Terminal. He is a SECP certified director in corporate governance.

Mr. Saleemullah Memon

Mr. Saleemullah Memon joined Hubco in March 2015 as Director Finance for the New Venture Division of the Company. He has been spearheading company’s efforts to arrange debt and equity financing for its growth projects. He is serving as the CEO of Thar Energy Limited since July 2017, a subsidiary of Hubco, which is developing a 330MW Coal Fired power plant in Thar.
Prior to joining Hubco, Saleem worked with Engro Corporation for 16 years and has diverse experience in the areas of finance, agri-marketing, business development and supply chain management.

Saleem is a graduate of Institute of Business Administration, Karachi.
